Property Information

Location. The oceanfront Gloria Resort Sanya is located along the shores of Yalong Bay on Hainan Island, China. Set against the Wuzhi Mountain range, the resort enjoys a coastline punctuated by pristine beaches, sea breezes and crystal waters. Butterfly Park, within one kilometer, houses some of the rarest species of butterfly in China. Sanya City, 20 kilometers northeast of the property, has places to shop and eat.
Hotel Features. The hotel's restaurants offer outdoor ocean views and serve Cantonese, Teppanyaki and seafood dishes. The lobby lounge offers drinks and live entertainment; the large outdoor pool also serves as a venue for live entertainment. There's also a nightclub and karaoke bar.

Water sports are popular at the resort with water skiing, sail boats, jet skis, and scuba diving all arranged by the hotel. Other outdoor activities include an 18 hole championship golf course, four floodlit tennis courts, and the hotel's very own archery field.

The on site health club features an aerobics room, health bar, whirlpool, sauna and steam room. Spa Gardens offers body treatments in private massage villas. The air conditioned Little Kingdom has playrooms with toys and games for children between two and eight.

Guestrooms. Built in 1996, these ultra modern guestrooms on this eight story hotel feature contemporary decor and views of either the courtyard and pool or golf course or ocean. All 404 rooms include satellite television with premium channels, minibar with mini fridge, and an in room safe. Suites feature private balconies with views of the ocean and include VCR, complimentary daily newspapers, coffee/tea makers, kitchenettes, mini bars and jetted spa tubs.

Expert Tip. Though Sanya is known as the remotest cape of the earth, it still has enough presence to attract beauty pageant contestants. The city hosted the Miss World contest in 2003, 2004 and 2005.
