Location. The Historic Strater Hotel is located in Durango, Colo., one block from the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. The hotel is two blocks from Historic 3rd Avenue and the Diamond Circle Melodrama and Vaudeville.
Hotel Features. Built in 1887, the Historic Strater Hotel contains a large collection of antique furniture, crystal and lace. The hotel offers three restaurants and bars. Open for lunch and dinner, the Diamond Belle Saloon is a ragtime piano bar featuring staff in period costumes and nightly live entertainment. The Mahogany Grills serves New American cuisine with live jazz music in the background. The Office Spiritorium features a turn of the century atmosphere with drinks, appetizers and occasional live music. Event space at the Historic Strater Hotel includes 5,400 square feet for meetings, weddings and small conventions. Complimentary continental breakfasts are provided. The hotel also offers a Victorian style spa tub.
Guestrooms. The 93 American Victorian style guestrooms contain walnut antiques and period wallpaper. Cable television is available, and complimentary wireless Internet access is provided in select rooms. This historic hotel is not handicapped accessible.
