Location. The Capital Hilton occupies a strategic location amid K Street's law firms and lobbying offices in Washington, D.C. This 1940s era hotel is located three blocks from the White House and Embassy Row.
Hotel Features. The Capital Hilton's lobby features mahogany pillars and richly patterned carpets. Twigs restaurant emphasizes seafood entrées in a casually stylish atmosphere with a partial glass atrium. The Statler Lounge reflects Art Deco details and serves libations and light fare. The business center houses three computer stations, is open 24 hours a day, and provides limited hour staff assistance. A total of 30,000 square feet of function space accommodates events. Wireless Internet access is available in public areas, for a fee. The on site health club is open limited hours, for a fee. The club houses a sauna, a steam room, spa facilities and a fitness center. The fitness center offers Nautilus strength training equipment and cardiovascular equipment, and provides exercise sessions such as cardio boxing, yoga and Pilates classes. Guestrooms. This 11 story property offers 544 guestrooms in Neo classical style with cherry wood furnishings and Biedermeier accents. Expert Tip. The wall behind the Presidential Ballroom's primary table is reinforced with six feet of concrete and steel, installed originally following World War II for the safety of seated government officials. Another interesting historic tidbit, an automobile lift was constructed that elevated FDR's private car to the second floor ballroom.
