Location. The Land gut Hotel Deutsches Haus is on the outskirts of Meissen, Germany, four kilometres from the city centre, and 28 kilometres from Dresden.
Hotel Features. Situated in a Saxon country house dating from 1897, the Land gut Hotel Deutsches Haus is a two storey property in a rural setting. The hotel has Internet connections (surcharge), and a picnic area with barbecue. For special events, there is a meeting room, banquet room, terrace and inner courtyard. Expert Tip. Johann Böttger tried and failed to turn base metals into gold, angering the Saxon ruler. His life was only spared when he created a facsimile of Chinese porcelain instead. This led to the first porcelain factory being opened in Meissen.

Driving Directions

From Dresden Airport (DRS):

Getting there. The airport has an underground railway station with shuttle trains to the city centre. The S Bahn station is located on the terminal building's lower level. The fare for a single ticket is around 2 EUR, and the journey time is 20 minutes. Taxis into Dresden centre cost approximately 20 EUR. An airport coach departs every 30 minutes for the city centre, and the fare is around 15 EUR. Trains run from Dresden's main station to Meissen. Prices are all subject to change.

Driving directions. From the airport, follow signs onto the A4/E40 in the direction of Dresden.
Continue on to Exit 80, signposted Dresden Wilder Mann and Moritzburg, and exit.
After 3 kilometres, turn right onto the S179 to Grossenhain, Weinbohla and Moritzburg.
After 6 kilometres, take the 3rd exit onto the S81.
At the junction with the S80, turn left and continue through Weinbohla.
At the K8012, Meissener Strasse, turn right in the direction of Niederau.
Continue on the K8012 (Meissener Strasse) to Niederau.
Land gut Hotel Deutsches Haus is on the right.
