The ArabellaSheraton Alpenhotel is a modern Bavarian chalet style hotel with a white, balcony fronted façade. The hotel is set by a lake amidst lush pine forest, 1,110 meters above sea level in the Alpine ski resort of Spitzingsee, six kilometers from Schliersee. The 120 guestrooms feature light décor with Alpine influence, pine wood furniture and Internet connections (fee). All include minibars, televisions with satellite channels, private bathrooms, hair dryers and telephones.
The hotel houses two restaurants: At König Ludwig Stube, guests can enjoy a traditional Bavarian and international dishes with an extensive international wine list and views of the lake. Osteria L'Oliva offers typical Italian dishes with an extensive Italian wine list and Mediterranean style décor. There is also a wine cellar for small private dinners and tastings. The Alpine style Lobby Bar offers a limited range of dishes from the König Ludwig Stube menu and a wide selection of drinks. Guests can energize themselves for the day in the hotel fitness studio and gym area, or take a morning dip in the indoor pool. The spa center features Germany's highest altitude Soletherme brine spa, hot tub, three different saunas, steam bath and solarium. The hotel also houses a gift shop and offers complimentary garage parking, laundry facilities and ski storage. For those with business needs, a choice of ten meeting rooms is available. Spitzingsee ski resort ranges from 980 to 1,693 meters above ski level. Although it caters for skiers of all abilities, the majority of runs are suitable for intermediate or advanced skiers. The pistes cover approximately 30 kilometers and are served by 18 lifts. The resort also features five cross country skiing trails and a toboggan run. Other nearby attractions include the Mount Wendelstein Rack Railway, 15 kilometers away and Herrenchiemsee New Palace and Park, King Ludwig II's 19th century replica of Versailles, is 80 kilometers away. The nearest airport is Munich, 70 kilometers away at an approximate driving time of 100 minutes.

Driving Directions

The S Train runs from the airport to Munich Mainstation. From here, take the Bayrtische Oberlandbahn (BOB) to Fischhausen Neuhaus. The hotel is approximately 15 minutes by taxi at a cost of about €15.
Driving from Munich, take the Salzburg Autobahn to Salzburg. Exit at Weyarn and take the highway to Miesbach. Follow the signs to Schliersee, then to Spitzingsee.
