Location. The Aquamarina Hotel is located in Budapest, Hungary. It is a boat hotel on the River Danube in the north of the city, within three kilometres of Budapest's Danube islands. A direct boat service operates in summer months from the hotel to the city centre, eight kilometres away. Romaifurdo metro station is 500 metres from the hotel, and Budapest Ferihegy Airport is 45 kilometres away.
Hotel Features. A converted Russian paddle steamer, The Aquamarina Hotel has greenery along its decks and a fixed bridge to the riverbank. The lobby offers a 24 hour front desk, an ATM, and currency exchange. Public areas are air conditioned, and have complimentary Internet connections, and there is nearby parking for a surcharge.

The Danube Restaurant at the Aquamarina Hotel serves Hungarian and international dishes to tables arranged in boxes. A complimentary continental breakfast is available, and the Mirror Bar serves a range of drinks until late, with dancing and entertainment.

The Aquamarina Hotel has a small conference room, with audio visual equipment and banqueting facilities.

A variety of water sports are available on the river, from fishing to motor boating and jet skiing, while on the boat itself there are yoga facilities. Nearby are a swimming pool, bicycle and scooter rental, and a fitness centre which offers discounted entrance to hotel guests.

Expert Tip. Margaret Island is actually three small islands framed with a common shore, named after a 13th century princess Margit who entered a convent here. The island is covered in varied parkland, with chestnut avenues, English and Japanese style gardens, an open air swimming complex, thermal springs, and an open air theatre.

Driving Directions

From Budapest Ferihegy Airport (BUD):
Distance to Aquamarina Hotel is 25 kilometres, approximately 30 minutes' drive.

Getting there. An airport bus runs every 30 minutes between the airport and Budapest's central bus station, Erzsebet Square. The airport operates a minibus service to addresses in Budapest. Pre pay bus number 93 runs from the airport to the Kobanya Kispest underground metro terminus. Travellers might wish to get off at Deak Ter, where three underground lines meet (this stop is also a tram and bus interchange). The number 200 bus runs every 10 12 minutes to the metro station, and costs 210 HUF. There is a taxi stand at the airport. Passengers are advised to negotiate a price before travelling, as fares are not always regulated. The fare to central Budapest should be about 5,200 HUF. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. An efficient and inexpensive public transport system operates in Budapest. There are easy links between the buses, HEV trains, metro, trolley buses, and trams. Tickets are available from kiosks, newsstands and metro stations.

Driving directions. From Budapest Ferihegy Airport, head northwest and take route 4 towards the city centre.
Turn right at Konyves Kalman korut and cross the river.
Soon afterwards, continue on Route 11 as it bends to the right.
Turn right just before Romaifurdo metro station onto Rozgonyi Piroska Utca and continue to the riverbank where the boat hotel is found.
