Location. The Golden Tulip Tiberias hotel is located in Tiberias, Israel, on the western shores of the Sea of Galilee, 150 metres from the Sea of Galilee, and five kilometres from pilgrim sites. It is also 25 kilometres from Hamat Gader, a mineral water spa and crocodile farm.
Hotel Features. Situated in the centre of the old city of Tiberias, The Golden Tulip Tiberias overlooks the Sea of Galilee and the Golan Heights. Most of the rooms have views of Lake Galilee, and are equipped with cable television, tea and coffee makers, and direct dial phones. Bathrooms have handheld showers, makeup mirrors, and designer toiletries.

Expert Tip. Right on the shores of Lake Galilee, Tiberias is one of the four Jewish Holy Cities. The Jordan River site at Yardenit, where it's claimed Jesus was baptized, offers baptisms to visitors; bring swimwear and a robe. Afterwards, tuck into a fusion of French and Cannanite dishes at the excellent onsite restaurant.

Driving Directions

From Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport (TLV):
Distance to Golden Tulip Tiberias is 133 kilometres, approximately 2.5 hours drive.

Getting there. Taxis wait at level G, Terminal Three, and the fare to Tiberias is 300 ILS Fares are higher at night. Sheruts (shared taxis) have fixed rates per passenger. Visitors are advised to use registered taxis only. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. Sheruts (shared taxis) are popular for exploring Tiberias and the surrounding area. The minibuses can accommodate up to 10 passengers. There is also a good bus service in the town that connects with a service covering the surrounding areas. Fares are around 5 NIS per person and most city routes are covered. A car is recommended for exploring the less touristy areas.
