Property Information
Location. Housed in a group of 19th century stone buildings, the Scots Hotel is set on the shores of the Sea of Galilee just north of Tiberias, overlooking the Golan Heights. Tel Aviv Airport (TLV) is 100 kilometres away.
Hotel Features. Originally a 19th century hospital, the buildings of the Scots Hotel also served as a guesthouse for pilgrims before opening as a hotel in 1999. Guests can enjoy the public areas, which include lawns with views of the Sea of Galilee, ornate shrubbery, stone terraces, and a fish pond, roof terrace and herb garden. The grounds lead directly to the beach, and the hotel also has a half Olympic sized outdoor pool with poolside bar. There is also a massage treatment room, gift shop, nightclub, and conference facilities.
The Scots Hotel features a restaurant, bar and café. A complimentary buffet breakfast is available in the morning and Torrance Restaurant serves dishes made using fresh produce from the Galilee region. Ceilidh Bar is a Scottish pub themed bar, and the coffee shop offers an à la carte menu.
Guestrooms. The 69 air conditioned guestrooms blend modern decor with period features and dark wood antique style furnishings. Amenities include refrigerators, satellite television, hair dryers, safes and complimentary tea and coffee.
Expert Tip. Mount Tabor, 30 kilometres from the Scots Hotel, offers panoramic views of the area. Mentioned many times in the Old Testament, it is also believed to be the site of the Transfiguration of Jesus.
