Location.Housed in an 18th century building, the Hotel Royal is an elegant property located in the city centre, two kilometres from Villa Bellini Park. Catania Fontanarossa Airport is situated ten kilometres away, an approximate driving time of 30 minutes.
Hotel Features. The hotel features a massage treatment room and a roof terrace with a solarium. Hotel staff can organize excursions to Etna and local wineries, and guests can round off the evening with a drink in the bar. Internet connections are available for a fee, while other practical amenities include concierge services and parking (surcharge).

Terrazza Royal, open during summer, serves a variety of Sicilian dishes in a rooftop setting with classic furnishings and a terrace area for outdoor dining.

Expert Tip.Mount Etna, 20 kilometres from the hotel, is the largest active volcano in Europe. It is not considered dangerous, and thousands of people live on its slopes which are planted with vineyards and orchards.

Driving Directions

Getting there. Buses run from the airport to Piazza Duomo and downtown Catania. Alternatively taxis are available and cost approximately 20 EUR to the hotel. The city centre is well served with buses and taxis. Car hire is advisable for visiting Mount Etna.
