Location. The Hotel Basilea is a traditional three storey ochre coloured hotel, and is located beside by one of Venice's canals in the historic centre of this romantic city. The Bridge of the Barefoot Carmelite Sisters is 300 metres from the hotel and the Grand Canal is 600 metres away. Santa Lucia Station is 300 metres from the hotel. Venice Marco Polo Airport is 13 kilometres from the hotel, and can be reached in approximately 30 minutes by water taxi.
Hotel Features. Staff at the Hotel Basilea's 24 hour front desk are on hand to offer sightseeing advice and look after valuables in the safe deposit box. A buffet breakfast is served each morning and room service is also available (limited hours). The hotel also features a television in the lobby.

Guestrooms. The 30 air conditioned guestrooms over three floors are decorated in light shades and feature typically Venetian furnishings. Amenities include televisions, direct dial phones, safes and bathrooms with shower/tub combinations. Some guestrooms have shared bathrooms.

Expert Tip. The Bridge of the Barefoot Carmelite Sisters is an excellent place to start an unplanned wander through the romantic back streets of Santa Croce neighbourhood of Venice.

Driving Directions

Getting there. A regular water bus service and water taxis run from the airport to Venice. Private water taxis cost about 80 90 EUR to the hotel, a journey of around 30 minutes. There are scheduled bus services to Padua, Mestre and Venice. Venice Mestre railway station is connected to the airport by a bus service that runs every 20 minutes.
