Location. Constructed as a 16th century casino that was designed for Venetian aristocracy, the Albergo Quattro Fontane stands 50 metres from the beach in Venice, Italy. The convention center is located 100 metres from the hotel, and the Palazzo Mostra del Cinema, site of the Venice International Film Festival, is positioned 200 metres away.
Hotel Features. The lobby of the Albergo Quattro Fontane displays African masks, Indonesian puppets and rare French ceramic figure collections. The main building retains sections of the original 16th century building, and boasts wrought iron light fixtures from one of the hotel's previous incarnations as a 19th century tavern. On site dining features complimentary European style cold breakfast buffets. The Quattro Fontane Restaurant & Bar is located in a restored 1575 summer house that features original wood beam ceilings, a wood burning fireplace and four marble columns, two of which were designed by famed architect Palladio. Venetian and international dishes are created with vegetables grown in the hotel's garden. Platano offers grilled fare and cocktails amid flowering gardens that flourish beneath the restaurant's namesake 300 year old plane tree. Two computers in public areas provide complimentary high speed Internet access. Function rooms accommodate events, and currency exchange services are offered at the 24 hour front desk. The hotel offers four rental cabanas positioned on the Lido's sandy shores. Use of the hotel's clay tennis court is complimentary.

Guestrooms. This hotel offers 60 air conditioned guestrooms located in a vine covered, four story building. A four story annex contains rustic wood accents. Guestroom décor includes antique furniture, rugs, tapestries and paintings. Bathrooms are contemporary, many featuring Sardinian floral tiles. Expert Tip. The Albergo Quattro Fontane is a favorite location for moviemakers during Venice's film festival. During this period, glitterati attend parties hosted in the courtyard. Festival dates vary.

Driving Directions

From Venice Marco Polo Airport:
Approximate time by boat is 50 minutes across the Venice Lagoon, and one additional kilometre by land from the boat dock.

From the airport, visitors can take a private water taxi or travel by boats operated by Linea Alilaguna. A shuttle bus located outside the baggage claim area transports visitors to the boat. The boat disembarks passengers on the Lido, located one kilometre from the hotel. Visitors can drive 13 kilometres from the airport to a car ferry at the end of the Tronchetto parking garage near Pizzale Roma. Follow the sign at end of bridge to Tronchetto ferry boat per il Lido. Car ferry docks are located 1.25 kilometres from the hotel. Proceed south from the car ferry dock along the main street and turn left onto Gran Viale S. Cross the island via Maria Elisabetta. Turn right onto Lungomare Guglielmo Marconi. Turn right onto Via Lorenzo Marcello. The hotel is located 100 metres ahead. The hotel offers a limited number of complimentary parking spaces.
