Location. The beachfront Gran Bahia Principe Akumal All Inclusive is located five kilometers from Akumal, Mexico. The Xel Ha archaeological site is 10 kilometers from this property. A complex adjacent to the resort includes an Internet café, numerous shops, a 24 hour doctor's office and a pharmacy.
Hotel Features. This resort houses 15 restaurants and bars that offer a range of culinary choices from Italian and seafood specialties to Asian and Mexican fare. The primary outdoor pool is shaded by slender palm trees and is bordered by spa tubs. The white sand and rock beach extends one kilometer past the resort, and reaches inland as far as 91 meters. Leisure diversions include dance lessons, introductory scuba diving lessons, aerobics and a variety of games and athletic contests. An on site spa contains saunas, steam rooms and massage rooms. The Mini Club features all day activities and serves lunches at the children's center.

Guestrooms. This resort offers 630 guestrooms and suites housed within 25 three story, terra cotta hued villas. Guestrooms feature Mexican design with tiled floors, ceiling fans, and canary yellow, pale turquoise and ocean blue color schemes. Arches and pillars divide sleeping and sitting areas in the junior suites. Select rooms feature balconies with ocean, pool and garden views. In room safes are available for a fee. Accommodations include minibars and coffeemakers.

Expert Tip. Trams shuttle guests throughout the resort, to a partner property and to Hacienda Doña Isabel, a shopping and entertainment complex in the common area shared by the two hotels. Disco La Rancherita, located in Hacienda Doña Isabel, opens at midnight.
