Location. Hidden amid lagoons and white sandy beaches, The Fairmont Mayakoba lies eight kilometers north of Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Most of the city's excitement centers around its famous Fifth Avenue, where sun kissed tourists stroll through the busy street lined with shops, boutique hotels and small restaurants. The Xcaret Eco Theme Park lies 12 kilometers away, and Cancun International Airport can be found 72 kilometers away.
Hotel Features. The Fairmont Mayakoba sits on 45 acres of a master planned resort community between Cancun and Playa del Carmen. Nature tours, star gazing trips and supervised children activities are offered on site, and off site sailing, snorkeling and scuba adventures can be arranged. Complimentary lanchas, or canal boats, provide shuttle service throughout the property.

The resort features four pools, including a 10,000 square foot main pool with swim up bar and an 18 hole, 2007 PGA featured golf course designed by Greg Norman.

The Fairmont Mayakoba is also home to extensive dining facilities, including the dinner only Las Brisas, where exquisite seafood is presented amid style and elegance. Perched on its own island, La Laguna is the hotel's main restaurant that serves family favorites such as sandwiches and wood fired pizzas. Overlooking the lagoon, El Puerto is nestled in the main building and features lobster, steak and pasta. The hotel is also home to Café Maya, where gourmet coffee and ice cream can be enjoyed.

Guestrooms. The 363 guestrooms and 34 suites at The Fairmont Mayakoba feature balconies, satellite television, bathrobes, coffeemakers, designer toiletries, in room safes, minibars, multi line telephones and dial up and high speed wireless Internet access. Many offer lagoon or ocean views.

Expert Tip. At the Xcaret Eco Theme Park, guests can swim with dolphins, explore Mayan culture, engage in archeological tours and gaze at the lush flora and fauna.
