Formerly a 17th century spa, the five floor Steigenberger Kurhaus Hotel lies on the beachfront boulevard, five kilometres from central Hague. The hotel's 253 guestrooms offer contemporary decor in rich tones, with sleek, dark wood finishes and walls adorned with framed prints. All have land or sea views, and include CD and cassette players, high speed Internet connections, satellite television with pay movies, coffee/tea makers, minibars and slippers. Bathrooms are equipped with telephones, shower/tub combinations, bathrobes and complimentary toiletries.
Guests can stroll a few steps down to the beach on warm days, and while away afternoons sipping cocktails in the conservatory bar or on the seafront terrace. The Kurzaal Restaurant is housed in a grand, opulent former concert hall preserved in period style, and serves a wide ranging European menu accompanied by live music. The Kandinsky is a contemporary restaurant with panoramic sea views that offers a modern European gourmet menu and an extensive wine list. The concierge can offer sightseeing advice and arrange bookings for excursions and events, and wireless Internet access is available in public areas. The Fishermen's District and Museum Beelden aan Zee, a sculpture museum, are both 100 metres away. Madurodam, a miniature town and replica of the Netherlands, is one kilometre away and central Hague is about five kilometres from the hotel. Amsterdam Schipol Airport is 43 kilometres and a 27 minute car journey from the hotel.

Driving Directions

There is a railway station in the terminal's central hall, under Schiphol Plaza; direct trains run to Amsterdam Centraal Station approximately every 15 minutes. Schiphol Travel Taxis are available from outside the arrivals hall. Public buses also run regularly to Amsterdam and other cities. The nearest train station is 50 metres from the hotel.
At the fork in the motorway, shortly after exit Nieuw Vennep/Alphen aan den Rijn, keep to the right and follow the signs for Leiden West/The Hague Centre (A44, merging into the N44). Pass through Wassenaar and drive on until reaching The Hague, traffic lights and signs indicating Cheveningen Bad/ANWB. Turn right at the traffic lights and follow the signs for Scheveningen Bad (along the Van Alkemadelaan, merging into the Zwolsestraat). At the end of Zwolsestraat turn left onto Gevers Deynootweg. Drive a further 300 metres until reaching the Steigenberger Kurhaus Hotel, to the right. Pass through the set of traffic lights at this point and turn right at Parking Kurhaus (P1).
