Location. The Grand Hotel Voncken is located in the centre of Valkenburg, Holland, within 100 metres of the Roman catacombs, 150 metres from Holland Casino and nine kilometres from Maastricht.
Hotel Features. With Heuvelland hillsides and castle ruins as a backdrop, the Grand Hotel Voncken enjoys picturesque views of the popular tourist town. With traditional design features, the hotel combines old world decor and modern comforts. Safe deposit boxes are located at the 24 hour front desk and multilingual staff are able to assist with travel and tourist arrangements. Parking is available (surcharge).

Expert Tip. Since Roman times, stone has been quarried at Valkenburg and today a vast network of caves and tunnels lies beneath the town. During various wars the caves were used as shelter and past inhabitants have decorated the walls with elaborate charcoal drawings. The caves are open to the public from Easter to the end of October and are used for the underground Christmas market.

Driving Directions

From Maastricht Airport (MST):
Distance to The Grand Hotel Voncken, A Hampshire Classic is 19 kilometres, approximately 15 minutes' drive.

Getting there. Taxis are available from outside the Arrivals Gate. Buses run to Maastricht central train station. Take route 420 on bus line Veolia. From Maastricht, trains run to Valkenburg.

Getting around. Valkenburg is compact and easy to explore on foot. Bicycles are ideal for the surrounding area. Trains connect to cities throughout Holland and a steam railway runs to Germany.

Driving directions. From the airport, take Highway A2 in the direction of Maastricht.
Before getting to Maastricht, follow signs towards Meerssen.
Follow directions for Valkenburg.
From the centre of Valkenburg, continue straight on.
At the roundabout after the traffic light, go to the right into Palankastraat and proceed to Walramplein.
