The Scandic Kristiansand is a modern, seven storey hotel located on Markensgate, the town's main shopping street, 150 metres from the cathedral and train station. This hotel features 112 soundproofed guestrooms with contemporary eco friendly furnishings made from 97% recyclable materials. During the summer months the hotel organises trips to the beaches and rocky islands of Southern Norway on its own boat the MS Øya. Guests should book at reception for the chance to enjoy an adventure on the water or to take a conference to sea. Multilingual staff at the 24 hour front desk are also on hand to organise excursions to Kristiansand Zoo, book tickets and arrange transportation. On the fifth floor of the hotel there is a sun terrace; guests can relax here or have a drink in the bar whilst browsing through complimentary newspapers, playing a board game or spending some quiet time in the reading corner. The Egon Restaurant has rustic decor with original features of its old barn walls, as well as wooden floors, beamed ceilings, and a central stone bar. An international menu of dishes which includes steak, fish, pizza, lasagne, tacos, burgers and salads, is served. During the summer, there is a playroom for children, and all kids receive a surprise gift at check in. Business guests enjoy access to seven conference rooms fitted with audio visual equipment and able to accommodate up to 120 people. Situated on Markensgate, the hotel is a short walk from plenty of shops, bars and restaurants as well as the city's cathedral, 150 metres away. Kristiansand Airport is 18 kilometres away with an approximate driving time of 20 minutes.

Driving Directions

Guests can catch the airport bus into Kristiansand, which drops guests 100 metres from the hotel. Alternatively, a taxi will cost approximately NOK 250. The hotel is in the middle of town which is easily explored on foot. The city is served by regular buses and trains.
