Built in 1998 in a typically Portuguese villa style and set by gardens with sea views, the Quintinha de Sao Joao is a family run hotel located one kilometre from the centre of Madeira's first city, Funchal. Madeira Airport is 23 kilometres from the hotel, with an approximate driving time of 20 minutes.
Hotel Features. The Hotel Quintinha is surrounded by gardens with mature trees, and the terrace features a heated outdoor swimming pool complete with a bar operated on the honesty principle. The hotel also houses fitness equipment and a sauna. Multilingual staff at the 24 hour front desk can provide room service and offer advice on Madeira's sights and attractions. Expert Tip. For fantastic views of Madeira, take a trip in the 30 person balloon, 1.5 kilometres from the hotel, which ascends to a height of 150 metres above the Funchal Marina. The Monte Palace Tropical Gardens are six kilometres away.
