A former palace dating from the 18th century and built from sandstone, the intimate Hotel As Janelas Verdes is situated on a pretty, cobbled street just 100 metres from the National Art Museum and one kilometre from Lisbon harbour. The 29 air conditioned guestrooms have classic Portuguese décor with rich fabrics and dark wood furnishings. All come equipped with satellite television, Internet connections, blackout drapes and bathrooms with hair dryers, bathrobes and slippers.
Guests can enjoy al fresco breakfasts in the hotel's small garden on fine days, and help themselves to a drink from the honesty bars in the library and the living room. Driving Directions
Taxis can be caught from outside the arrivals lounge. A typical fare to the hotel will cost around 16 EUR. The Carris AeroBus number 91 departs every 20 minutes to the city centre and to the Cais do Sodré railway station (journey time is about 20 minutes). Tickets can be purchased on board.
