Location. The Sesimbra Hotel and Spa is located in the fishing village of Sesimbra, Portugal. The hotel is directly on the beach, 100 metres from Sesimbra castle, 1.5 kilometres from the port, 15 kilometres from the nearest golf course. Lisbon is 35 kilometres from the hotel.
Hotel Features. This is an ultra modern hotel situated in the Arrabida Nature Reserve with views over the ocean. There is an indoor and outdoor pool, and the spa has five treatment rooms offering massage, aromatherapy, and hydrotherapy. There is also a hair salon. Multilingual staff can arrange 24 hour room service, there is wireless Internet access and complimentary garage parking.

The Sesimbra Hotel's Aquarius Restaurant overlooks the bay and serves seafood and fish dishes. The Pool Bar and Lounge serves light healthy snacks and beverages, accompanied in the evenings with live piano music. Mosaico Restaurant and Bar, linked to the spa, offers fusion Asian Latino dishes and vegetarian and low calorie menus along with fresh juices. The hotel serves a complimentary breakfast daily.

Business facilities include conference rooms and a business centre.

Guestrooms. There are 100 air conditioned guestrooms, all with Atlantic views and balconies. Decor is modern and neutral toned with contemporary wood furniture. Room are equipped with satellite television, direct dial phones, and high speed Internet access. Bathrooms have shower/tub combinations, telephones, complimentary designer toiletries, and bathrobes. The hotel offers a half board rate.

Expert Tip. Sesimbra village is a popular destination for Lisbon weekenders, but with its narrow and often steep streets, and a large sector of the community still dependent on the catch, it retains much of its fishing village atmosphere. Children under 13 years old can only use the spa's indoor relaxing pool during limited hours and swimming is not allowed in this pool. Swimming is permitted in the outdoor pool, which is not heated.

Driving Directions

From Lisbon (Portela) International Airport (LIS):
Distance to Sesimbra Hotel and Spa is 50 kilometres, approximately 70 minutes' drive.

Getting there. Aerobus shuttle, number 91, runs between the airport, the city centre and the Cais do Sodre railway station every 20 minutes. Tickets cost 2 EUR for a single and 3.10 EUR for all day travel, and can be purchased on board. From here catch the subway to Praca de Espanha. From here a bus runs directly to Sesimbra. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. Sesimbra is compact and best explored on foot. A hire car is recommended for exploring the area beyond the village.
