The hotel stands two blocks from the King Street shopping district. The City of Charleston Visitors Center and South Carolina Aquarium are within one half mile of the hotel.

Expert Tip. The historic Citadel building, home of the Embassy Suites Charleston Historic Charleston, is listed on the National Register of Historic Buildings. The structure housed the South Carolina Military Academy in the mid 1800s. The school was temporarily closed when Federal troops occupied the building during the Civil War.
