The Scandic Gävle Väst is set in a quiet area three kilometres from the town centre and 170 kilometres from Stockholm. This seven floor hotel features 200 guestrooms, all of which have Scandinavian style decor, and include satellite television, Internet connections, hair dryers and trouser presses.
After a day's sightseeing guests can take a dip in the indoor pool or relax in the sauna. The exercise room is also available to guests and contains an exercise bike, step machine and weights; extra towels are available from the front desk. Guests can dine at the Scandic Bistro, a modern restaurant with wooden floors, serving a range of dishes from the ā la carte menu. A range of drinks and snacks are available in the bar, which also features an open fireplace and large screen TV. The children's playroom and playground are located next to the restaurant, and there are 100 complimentary parking spaces on the premises. Staff at the front desk can advise on local tourist attractions and make restaurant reservations. Stockholm Arlanda Airport is 140 kilometres from the hotel, around 120 minutes by car.
Driving Directions
The airport has three railway stations: one for long distance destinations and two for frequent express trains to Stockholm. Taxis run from directly outside the terminals. When taking a taxi, passengers should speak to a taxi coordinator, found outside the terminal building. There are also bus stations outside terminals 2, 4 and 5.
