The Scandic Star is a congress hotel, located two kilometres from Lund Cathedral and 40 kilometres from Copenhagen. This five floor hotel features 196 guestrooms, all of which include satellite television with pay movies, minibars, safes, tea and coffee making facilities and trouser presses. Bathrooms come with showers, tubs and hair dryers.
Guests can sit in the central courtyard, and order tapas, omelettes, caviar, cocktails, and a range of whiskies and beers from Pompes Bar, which also has a large screen TV showing sporting events. The restaurant is open for dinner and serves traditional Swedish dishes with fish and meat straight from the grill. For business guests there are 20 conference rooms, accommodating up to 450 delegates, and banqueting facilities are also available. Guests can unwind at Susanna's Bad, the onsite relaxation area with sauna, sunbeds and indoor pool. Parking is complimentary for guests, with 270 spaces available. There is wireless Internet throughout the lobby area and multilingual staff at the front desk can provide further information on the surrounding area and local attractions. Malmo Sturup Airport (MMX) is 20 kilometres from the hotel, around 20 minutes by car.
Driving Directions
The Flygbussarna bus service links the airport with Malmo Central Station (45 mins) and Lund (40 mins). Services are frequent Mon Fri, but less so at the weekend. Cost is approximately SEK 90 to Malmö Central Station. Taxis are also available outside the terminal.
