Location. The traditional Hotel Edelweiss in Geneva, Switzerland, is located by Lake Geneva and close to the international UN buildings. The Brunswick Monument is 500 metres from the hotel, and Geneva's historic city centre and Saint Pierre Cathedral are one kilometre away. The hotel is five kilometres from Geneva International Airport (GVA).
Hotel Features. Set in a Swiss chalet building, the Hotel Edelweiss has a public sitting area with comfortable chairs, coffee tables and a fireplace. Concierge staff can offer local sightseeing advice. DVDS are available to rent in the lobby.

The low lit Edelweiss Restaurant serves Swiss specialities such as cheese and meat fondues, and raclettes. Guests can listen to Swiss mountain yodelling at one of the restaurant's theme nights. The lobby lounge serves drinks in a relaxed setting. Room service is available 24 hours a day.

The hotel has a business corner and high speed Internet connections in public areas.

Guests receive discounts at a nearby fitness centre. Nearby activities include sailing, boating, tennis and cycling.

Expert Tip. The lakeside Chateau de Chilion is 60 kilometres away. This opulent castle, flanked by mountains, is well worth a visit.

Driving Directions

From Geneva International Airport (GVA):
Distance to Hotel Edelweiss is five kilometres, approximately 15 minutes' drive.

Getting there. The airport's train station is a 300 metre walk from the Arrivals and Departures floors. Trains link to destinations across Switzerland. All trains stop at the central Geneva Cornavin station, and departures are approximately every 20 minutes. Single tickets cost 5 CHF. Bus number 10 runs every 10 minutes to the city centre. Bus number 18 runs every 30 minutes to the United Nations building. Single tickets cost 2.20 CHF. Bus number one heading to Wilson stops near the hotel. Aero Ski Bus serves many French ski stations, and tickets can be purchased at the airport. Taxis wait in the terminal forecourt and cost about 35 40 CHF to central Geneva and the hotel. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. The hotel is on Place De La Navigation, one kilometre from central Geneva. Geneva is served by an excellent tram and bus network. Tickets must be purchased in advance from vending machines, and validated prior to boarding. One day passes are available, offering unlimited travel on trains, trams, buses and 'mouette' water taxis. Parking is available nearby.

Follow signs for Lake Geneva and drive on Quai de Mont Blanc.
At the President Wilson Hotel, turn right.
Take the second left onto Rue de Paquis.
Carry on for 200 metres. The hotel is on Place de la Navigation.
