Location.The Spinne Hotel is a modern, ski in/ski out Alpine lodge at the foot of Mount Eiger and set in the centre of the traditional Swiss ski resort of Grindelwald. It is just 200 metres from the cable car. Bern International Airport is 75 kilometres from the hotel, an approximate driving time of 75 minutes.
Hotel Features.The hotel spa centre includes a sauna, a steam room, massage treatments, a solarium, a hot tub and a beauty and hair salon. Spinne Hotel is also ideally placed for skiing, with direct access to the slopes, free ski storage and a ski shuttle bus stop. Hotel staff can provide concierge services, currency exchange and arrange a laundry and dry cleaning service, and there are free car parking facilities provided.

Spine Hotel features a range of eating and drinking options: Mercato is an intimate Italian restaurant, with beamed ceilings and dark wood features; The Rotisserie has fine panoramic views of the mountains and features live piano music; and The Terrasse offers summer outdoor seating in the garden. Coffees and alcoholic drinks are served in the informal Espresso Bar, and the Mescalero Club is open late for drinking and dancing.

As well as the extensive winter sports opportunities, in the summer months the area is ideal for hiking and mountain biking with golf, tennis, and a wide range of other activities on offer in the vicinity.

Guestrooms.The hotel offers 44 guestrooms, located on four floors, which have modern light toned furnishings with sitting areas and carpeted floors. All include balconies with mountain views, safes, coffee/tea makers, minibars, satellite television, clock radios, complimentary Internet connections and complimentary newspapers. Bathrooms feature complimentary toiletries, bathrobes and hair dryers. Hypo allergenic bedding is also available on request. The half board room rate incorporates buffet breakfast and dinner each day.

Expert Tip.Grindelwald is part of the extensive Jungfrau ski area, with some 79 ski runs and 211 kilometres of piste. The historic lakeside town of Thun is 33 kilometres from the hotel.

Driving Directions

Getting there.A train runs from the centre of Bern to Grindelwald. Travellers can take a bus from Bern airport to the town's main station and then catch a train to Grindelwald, which will take approximately 105 minutes. Grindelwald station is approximately one kilometre from the hotel. The resort centre can be explored on foot.
