Location. The Hotel Central is located in Lucerne, Switzerland. The historic Kapellbrücke Bridge is 100 metres away and the Culture & Congress Centre is at a 300 metre distance. Lucerne Station is situated 200 metres from the hotel.
Hotel Features. Set in the city centre, the modern Hotel Central occupies a traditional townhouse style property and is spread over seven storeys accessible by elevator. The hotel offers a 24 hour front desk with safe deposit box and concierge service and wireless Internet is available. Further amenities include onsite parking, laundry facilities, and room service (limited hours).

The Hotel Central houses the informal Restaurant Barbarella, serving a range of Italian and Swiss dishes. The Diva Lounge Bar offers a selection of drinks and light snacks. A complimentary buffet breakfast is provided daily.

Expert Tip. The Glacier Garden Museum and Parkland, located one kilometre from the hotel, houses several attractions. The main highlight is the vast glacial potholes and Ice Age blocks discovered in the 19th century, but the park also includes a Botanical Garden, a House of Mirrors, and a Watch Tower.

Driving Directions

From Zurich Airport (ZRH):
Distance to the Hotel Central is 60 kilometres, approximately 55 minutes' drive.

Getting there. The airport has a Swiss Federal Railways Station located under Terminal B, with S2 and S16 trains to central Zurich departing every 10 minutes during peak times. Numerous services run to many destinations across Switzerland including Lucerne; the journey takes 60 minutes. Lucerne train station is situated 200 metres from the hotel. Taxis can be found outside Arrivals' and the fare to the hotel should be around CHF 170. Price subject to change.

Getting around. Lucerne is fairly compact and the main attractions can easily be reached on foot. Daily and weekly passes are available on the buses which provide efficient transport all over the city and its outskirts; tickets are available from street vendors and automatic machines. Taxis are readily available throughout Lucerne; surcharges are applied for travel at night and for extra baggage.

Driving directions. From the airport take the A1 in the direction of Bern Basel.
Change onto the A2 and head for Gotthard Lucerne.
