Location. The Ksar Rouge El Dorador is located in Tozeur, Tunisia, on the edge of the Sahara Desert overlooking the Chott El Jerid and Tozeur Oasis, in the heart of the tourist area. Downtown Tozeur is two kilometres away, and Tozeur Airport is five kilometres away.
Hotel Features. The Eldorador Ksar Rouge is a two storey red brick hotel of Moorish design. There is an outdoor swimming pool with a small waterfall, surrounded by a furnished terrace. There is also a separate children's pool and an indoor swimming pool. The onsite spa centre offers a Turkish bath, spa tubs and massage services. The spa's beauty services are complimentary. The front desk is open 24 hours a day and there is a nightclub on site.

The Ksar Rouge El Doador Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner from an extensive buffet or a table d'hote menu. There is a poolside snack bar and a Moorish café serving drinks including mint tea. Guests on the half board rate plan will be charged for lunch or dinner only.

There are tennis, volleyball, and badminton courts on site. Bicycles can also be rented on site. A kid's club provides supervised activities.

Guestrooms. The 112 air conditioned guestrooms at the Ksar Rouge El Dorador have views of the garden or the pool. All rooms have bright decor, and are equipped with satellite television and minibars. Bathrooms have shower/tub combinations and hair dryers. Half board rates are available.

Expert Tip. Tozeur is located between two seasonal salt lakes (or 'chotts') and because of abundant water close to the surface, has been settled since Roman times. The small oasis settlement of Bled el Haddar has a minaret built on Roman foundations.

Driving Directions

From Tozeur Airport (TOE):
Distance to Eldorador Ksar Rouge is 5 kilometres, approximately 10 minutes' drive.

Getting there. Buses run from the airport into Tozeur town and the tourist area. Taxis can be hired direct to the hotel.

Getting around. Tozeur is compact and best explored on foot. Four wheel drive vehicles are essential for excursions into the Sahara. The bus station on Av Farhat Hached connects to Tunis, Nefta, Gafsa, and Kebili and the louage (shared taxi) station is opposite.

Driving directions. From Tozeur Airport, follow signs towards the town centre.
From the town centre, follow signs towards the tourist area.
Ksar Rouge El Dorador is then easily found.
