Location. The historic Macdonald Bath Spa hotel is half a mile from the city centre of Bath, England. Famous attractions in the centre include the Roman Baths, the Pump Rooms and the Abbey.
Hotel Features. Built of golden Bath stone in the Georgian era, the Macdonald Bath Spa hotel was formerly a private mansion, and sits in seven acres of landscaped gardens with swaying cedars, fountains and ponds. There is complimentary onsite parking for guests.

The Macdonald Bath Spa hotel's Vellore Restaurant occupies the former ballroom. The formal restaurant serves English and French style cuisine beneath high ceilings, with a pianist playing on Friday and Saturday evenings. The less formal Alfresco Restaurant, in the conservatory is flooded with natural light. Pre dinner cocktails and after dinner brandies and cigars are served in the Colonnade Bar. Afternoon tea or light lunches can be taken in the Drawing Room, decorated with period style furniture.

The hotel's large spa has a 15 metre indoor pool, outdoor pool with sundeck, and jetted tub. The gym offers personal trainers (surcharge may apply). There are six treatment rooms for manicures, pedicures, facials and body treatments. The hotel also offers a sauna, infra red room, aroma steam room, salt infusion room and ice room.

Guestrooms. The 104 guestrooms are traditionally decorated and feature mahogany furnishings. Rooms offer CD players, minibars, dial up Internet connections, satellite television, safes and tea/coffee making facilities.

Expert Tip. One of Bath's lesser known museums, a mile from the hotel, is the Costume Museum, which showcases fashions through the centuries.

Driving Directions

From Bristol Airport (BRS):
Distance to the Macdonald Bath Spa hotel is 20 miles, approximately 45 minutes' drive.

Getting there. A coach service, the Bristol International Flyer, runs between the airport and Bristol bus station, Bristol Temple Meads train station, and the Clifton area. Journeys take about 30 minutes and coaches depart every 30 minutes. Services operate daily, excluding Christmas and Boxing Day, from 5.30 a.m. 10.30 p.m. Single adult tickets cost 5 GBP. Trains run between Bristol's central station and Bath. The journey time is about 15 minutes. Taxis are also available at the airport and cost around 35 GBP. Prices are all subject to change.

Driving directions. From Bristol Airport, take the M4 east.
Take Exit 18, A46.
Follow the A4, then take the A36, left to Warminster.
Turn left after the pedestrian crossing, then right at the traffic lights.
The hotel is on Sydney Road, 100 metres along on the left hand side.
