There are plenty of more upmarket options, including Grauer Wolf , Hauptstr. 80 (tel 0 91 31/8 10 60; DM125-149/¬63-74), Altmann's Stube , Theaterplatz 9 (tel 0 91 31/8 91 60; DM125-149/¬63-74), and Rokokohaus , Theaterplatz 13 (tel 0 91 31/78 30; DM150-199/¬75-99). The youth hostel is right in the heart of town at Südliche Stadtmauerstr. 35 (tel 0 91 31/86 22 74, fax 86 21 19; DM21/¬10.50), while the riverside campsite , Naturfreunde , is a short walk to the rear of the Hauptbahnhof at Wöhrmühle 6 (tel 0 91 31/2 53 03).

All the hotels listed above, except for Rokokohaus , have restaurants . Good alternatives are Grüner Markt , just off Marktplatz at Einhornstr. 9; Weinstube Kach , Kirchenstr. 2; and Bärengarten , below the Burgberg at Rathsberger Str. 2. Plenty of student bars and discos can also be found dotted all over the town centre.
