The spa villages of
Moulay Yacoub
and
Sidi Harazem
, respectively 20km northwest and 15km southeast of Fes, are largely medicinal centres, offering - as for many centuries past - cures for the afflicted. They are local rather than tourist attractions, but Moulay Yacoub, in particular, makes a pleasant day-trip for a swim and hot bath. Either site can be reached by grand taxi from the
gare routière
to Moulay Yacoub (7dh) and from Bab Ftouh to Sidi Harazem (5dh). Bus #28 runs from Place de la Résistance (aka La Fiat) to Sidi Harazem.
