Trains
from Marrakesh run to the
Gare des Voyageurs
, 2km from the centre at the far end of Boulevard Mohammed V. From Rabat (and Fes/Tangier), trains for Marrakesh pass through Gare des Voyageurs or, if Casablanca is their final destination, terminate at the central Gard du Port, 150m from Place des Nations Unies. If dropped at Voyageurs you can wait for a train from the airport which passes through the station and terminates at the Gare du Port.
If you don't want to wait for a train from the airport you might just get a place on bus #30 which runs into town from the square in front of the
Gare des Voyageurs
; otherwise, reckon on a twenty-minute walk or a petit taxi ride. Boulevard Mohammed V runs straight ahead from the square in front of the station, curving slightly to the left as you come to the next main square, Place El Yassir.
Bus
stations are more central and straightforward. All the CTM buses arrive at the CTM
gare routière
on Rue Léon l'Africain (off Avenue des F.A.R. and behind the
Hôtel Safir
). Private line buses use a terminal south of the Place de la Victoire.
Grands taxis
usually stop just behind the CTM
gare routière,
near the
Hôtel Safir
and the Complex Culturel Sidi Belyout at 28 Rue Léon l'Africain.
Coming from the
Aéroport Mohammed V
, used by all international and most domestic flights, there is a train service to Casablanca, calling at both the Voyageurs (20 min) and Port (30 min) stations; it runs roughly every hour from 6.15am to 10.45pm and costs 25dh. There is also a shuttle bus between the airport and the CTM
gare routière
.
For flights at odd hours you would need to charter a grand taxi to get from/to Casa and the airport, costing around 200dh
