If you've got your own transport, it's worth exploring the villages between Sorrento and Positano. SANT'AGATA SUI DUE GOLFI , as its name implies, gives great views of both the Golfo di Napoli and the Golfo di Salerno, and there is a great restaurant on the road between here and Positano, the Stelluccia (closed Wed). Try their specialities: mozzarella wrapped in ham slices, pasta with courgettes, and agnello alla brace - charcoal-grilled lamb. Just before you reach Positano, a road branches left up to the village of NOCELLE , where there's another restaurant - this time without a name - that has more unbeatable views over the coast (no closing day). The food is simple and well priced - reckon on L35,000/¬18.08 for a full meal.
