rental; Agelakos (tel 07320/61 219) at the Mobil garage just across the bridge towards the rock handles the
hydrofoils
. There are several
hotels
near or just north of the causeway. The cheapest is the refurbished
Akroyiali
(tel 07320/61 360; ¬24-33). The
Aktaion
(tel 07320/61 234; ¬34-42) and posher
Filoxenia

rooms
for rent such as the friendly

campsite
is 3km to the south, along the coast road;
Kapsis Paradise
(tel 07320/61 123) is open year-round, and has water-skis and scooters for rent. Back in the village, the best
taverna
is undoubtedly the
Nikolaos
; if you have transport, you could also try the
Pipinelis
(tel 07320/61 044; May-Oct), about 2km out on the road south to the campsite, but ring first to be sure it's open and to make a reservation if the weather's cool, as indoor seating is limited. Even closer to the campsite is the pleasant
Kamares
taverna with good grilled and oven food. For nightlife in Yéfira, try the popular
Rock Café
or the
Santé
bar which plays cutting-edge Greek music.
